The amount of trimmer line you need depends on the size of the spool.

Spools come in a variety of sizes, and the amount of trimmer line you need will vary depending on the size of the spool. Some common sizes are 0.065 inches, 0.080 inches, and 0.095 inches.

If you’re using a gas trimmer, you’ll need about 80 feet of trimmer line for each tank of gas. If you’re using an electric trimmer, you’ll need about 50 feet of trimmer line for each charge.

The length of the trimmer line also depends on the size of the cutting area.

The size of the cutting area will determine how much trimmer line you need to use. If you have a small cutting area, you will need less trimmer line. If you have a large cutting area, you will need more trimmer line.

The type of trimmer line also affects how much you need.

There are three common types of trimmer line:
-Round string trimmer line: This is the most common type of trimmer line. It’s easy to find, relatively inexpensive, and comes in many different diameters.
-Serrated or “shaped” string trimmer line: This type of trimmer line has teeth or other shapes molded into it. This helps it cut through tougher vegetation.
-Braided string trimmer line: Braided trimmer line is very strong and resistant to wear and tear, making it ideal for heavy-duty use. However, it’s also more expensive.

When choosing a diameter for your trimmer line, keep in mind that larger diameters will cover more ground with each pass but will also require more power from your trimmer to spin the head. Smaller diameters will do the opposite. In general, .065 inch (.165 cm) to .080 inch (.203 cm) diameter trimmer line is good for most general purpose use.
