Unscrew the back of the battery compartment.

Using a small Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the back of the battery compartment. Be careful not to lose the tiny O-ring that seals the compartment. If it falls out, put it back in its groove before proceeding.

Remove the old battery.

Remove the old battery. To do this, unscrew the cap at the back of the trimmer (counterclockwise) and pull it off. Next, use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the single screw that holds the battery cover in place. Once the screw is removed, pull off the battery cover. Finally, remove the old battery from its compartment and dispose of it properly.

Insert the new battery.

With the new battery in hand, locate the silver tab at the end of the trimmer. This is the battery release tab. Use your fingernail to press down on the tab and slide it to the left. This will open up the battery compartment.

Gently insert the new battery into the compartment, taking care that it is inserted correctly. The positive end of the battery (the end with the + symbol) should be inserted first. Close the compartment by sliding the release tab back to its original position on the right side.

Screw the back of the battery compartment.

Open the battery case by unscrewing the back of the battery compartment. You may need a coin or small flathead screwdriver to do this. Once the case is open, remove the old batteries and dispose of them safely.

Close the battery compartment.

To change the battery in your Wahl nose trimmer, first make sure that the trimmer is turned off. Next, locate the battery compartment, which is usually on the bottom of the trimmer. Once you have found the compartment, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw that is holding the compartment closed.
