Although it’s fairly easy to remove the Black and Decker electric trimmer head, there are a few things you need to know before you get started. Unplug the trimmer
Before beginning any work on the trimmer, be sure to unplug it from the power outlet. This will ensure that there is no power running through the trimmer while you are working on it.
Remove the spool
Remove the spool by unscrewing the spool retainer clockwise. To avoid losing parts, keep the retainer and spring with the spool.
Take off the trimmer head
Unscrew the knob at the base of the trimmer head counterclockwise to loosen, then pull the trimmer head straight off the shaft.
Removing the Black and Decker Electric Trimmer Head
The Black and Decker electric trimmer head can be removed by following a few simple steps. First, disconnect the trimmer from the power source. Next, remove the spool cap from the trimmer head. Be sure to remove the inner spool as well. Once the spool is removed, you will be able to see the trimmer head. Simply unscrew it from the trimmer body and it will come off.
Unplug the trimmer
Start by unplugging the trimmer from the outlet. You want to make sure that there is no power running through the trimmer before you start to take it apart.
Once the trimmer is unplugged, you can begin to remove the head of the trimmer. There are typically two screws that need to be removed in order to take the head off. These screws are usually located on the bottom of the trimmer head.
Once the screws are removed, you should be able to pull the head of the trimmer off. If there is any resistance, make sure that you have removed all of the screws. Sometimes, there is a third screw that is hidden under a plastic cap.
With the head of the trimmer removed, you will be able to access the cutting blade. Be careful when handling the blade, as it is very sharp. You may need to use a pair of pliers to remove the blade from the trimmer.
Once the blade is removed, you can put everything back together by reversing these steps. Make sure that all of the screws are tightened before plugging in and using the trimmer again.
Remove the spool
1. Unplug the trimmer.
2. Press the spool release button on the side of the trimmer head.
3. Turn the spool counterclockwise to remove it from the trimmer head.
Take off the trimmer head
1. Unplug the trimmer.
2. Lay the trimmer down on a flat surface, with the cutting head facing up.
3. Locate the small hole on the side of the trimmer head, directly above the cutting line. This is the release hole.
4. Insert a small, flat-head screwdriver or slotted screwdriver into the release hole.
5. Turn the screwdriver clockwise to loosen the hold that secures the trimmer head to the shaft.
6. Pull the trimmer head off of the shaft when it is loose enough to do so by hand.
